Overview

Welding is at the core of many metal fabrication projects. From small brackets and frames to large structural assemblies, high-quality welding is what holds everything together and keeps it performing in the field.

Advanced expertise & equipment

As experts in welding and fabrication, we handle a wide range of custom welding jobs. Our team works with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, and we select the right welding process for each project, whether it is manual welding for complex, one-off work or highly repeatable welds that pair with robotic cells.

We know the power of quality.

We synchronize our precision metal work with the highest quality of customer service, while using state-of-the-art technologies that provide customized metal fabrication solutions to fulfill our customer needs.

Manual Welding

When parts are complex, low volume, or frequently changing, skilled welders are often the best way to achieve strong, reliable welds and high-quality finished assemblies.

Frequently asked questions

What is welding?

Welding is the process of joining metals by melting and fusing them together, often with a filler material, to create a strong, permanent joint. At FPS, welding is a core part of our fabrication capabilities, and we combine manual welding, robotic welding, and different welding processes to build durable, high-quality assemblies.

We offer several welding processes so we can match your project to the right method:

  • MIG welding (gas metal arc welding)
  • TIG welding (gas tungsten arc welding)
  • Resistance spot welding (RSW)
  • Stud welding
  • Welding of stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel

The welding process we choose depends on the material, thickness, joint design, and production volumes.

We use welding to build:

  • Frames, bases, and structural assemblies
  • Brackets, supports, and guards
  • Welded components that integrate laser cut and formed parts
  • Fabricated structures that later receive machining and finishing

From one-off repairs and prototypes to larger production weldments, we can tailor the welding approach to fit your project.

We weld:

  • Carbon and mild steel
  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminum

We can review other materials or special alloys on a case-by-case basis and confirm weldability based on your requirements

Yes. We support small welding projects, prototypes, and low-volume builds, as well as repeat production weldments. You do not need a large minimum order to work with us on welding.

Preferred file formats for welding quotes are  DXF, DWG, STP and PDF.

All weldments are inspected and tested to help ensure quality. We follow welding procedures, use appropriate joint prep and fixturing, and perform visual and dimensional checks as needed. When you have specific inspection or testing requirements, we can review them with you and include them in the quote.

Yes. We offer robotic welding for suitable projects, especially medium- to high-volume production where consistency and speed matter. Robotic welding is often paired with manual welding for more complex or low-volume work, so you get the right process for each part of your project.
