Overview

Tube bending is versatile and can be used across a wide variety of industries. As experts in tube bending, we can handle just about any tube bending job. That being said, we often work with our customers to refine specifications—such as bend radius, wall thickness, tube diameter, materials, and more—to ensure the design is optimal for producing the end product. That’s why we offer manufacturing design assistance.

At Fluid Power Support, metal bending and forming is a core part of our custom metal fabrication capabilities. We use state of the art press brakes and precision metal fabrication equipment to bend and form parts that integrate with our laser cutting, CNC machining, welding, and finishing operations.

Frequently asked questions

What is tube bending?

Tube bending is the process of forming tubes and pipes into precise shapes and angles to meet your project specifications. Our tube bending capabilities include CNC rotary draw bending, mandrel bending, and roll bending—all performed in one shop for quality and speed.

We bend custom tubes and pipes for a wide range of applications, from single prototypes to full production runs, using our precision tube bending workflow.

Tube bending at FPS covers mild or carbon steel, stainless steel 304 and 316, aluminum, brass, copper, and titanium. We work with round, square, and rectangular tubing in a variety of wall thicknesses and diameters to meet your project requirements.

Yes. Tube bending has no minimum order. We support one-offs, short runs, and large production.

Preferred formats are DXF, DWG, PDF, and STP. Other file types are accepted by arrangement and may include an additional conversion charge.

For tube bending, bend angles are typically held to plus or minus 1 degree, and bend locations to plus or minus 0.030 inches unless the print calls out tighter. We will review drawings and advise on achievable results.

Send drawings or models with material, tube diameter, wall thickness, quantities, and finish. We will reply with a quote and confirm anything else needed.

Tube bending pricing depends on material type, tube diameter and wall thickness, number of bends, bend complexity, tooling requirements, finish, and inspection level.

Yes. Our tube bending team provides design for manufacturability feedback and can create shop drawings from sketches.

Yes. Tube bending at FPS can be combined with end forming, notching, cutting to length, welding, and assembly when requested.

Tube bending at FPS can include in-house abrasive blasting and powder coating. We can coordinate other finishes if needed.
