What is sheet bending?

Sheet bending is the process of using press brakes and other forming equipment to bend flat sheet metal into specific angles and shapes. In our shop, sheet bending typically follows laser or plasma cutting and precedes welding and finishing, so parts flow through a complete fabrication process in one facility.

We use sheet bending to create:

  • Brackets and mounting plates
  • Panels and guards with flanges
  • Channels, angles, and formed sections
  • Components that become part of larger welded frames and assemblies

Sheet bending at FPS typically covers:

Yes. Sheet bending is one step in our broader fabrication process. We can:

  1. Laser cut or plasma cut your flat parts
  2. Bend them on precision press brakes
  3. Weld them into assemblies or frames

Sand blast and powder coat them in-house.

To get started:

  1. Send your flat patterns or drawings with material, thickness, and quantities.
  2. Mark any critical bends and dimensions and note whether parts are cosmetic or purely functional.
  3. Let us know if you also need cutting, welding, or coating.
